Oh Ginger, how I love thee

Lately I've been eating a ton of ginger and the only explanation I can come up with is, my body wants what it wants. Maybe my kidneys need some warming up or my stomach needs calming down-who knows? But I eat it EVERYday. I just get a burst of happiness when I eat it! Ginger has been shown to be good for a variety of ailments from nausea to headaches. I've never read anything that says it's no good for your health.

I eat the Reeds Ginger candies. They don't have as much sugar as the ones in the health food store. Those ones tend to sprinkle raw sugar on top of the ginger. Reeds has a light powder of tapocia on them and a bit of sugar mixed in. It still has that warming flavor that you gotta love.

Next is this wonderful stirfry ginger from Lee Kum Kee. I mix this in with all my veggies. The flavor isn't so intense but you can still taste some heat. If you want ginger in your diet but not crazy about the flavor, this is a good way to mask it. You can pick this up at any health food store.

The other day I was waiting for my sandwich at Whole Foods and I came across these little beauties. Raw Ginger Snaps. Listen to the ingredients: organic coconut (unsulphured), sprouted organic sesame seeds, organic date, organic ginger. I mean could you get a healthier snack than that? I think this would be a great snack for kids instead of any processed foods.
